Although it doesn't have any sandy beaches of its own, Cape May Court House does have a beautifully kept zoo. The Cape May County Park and Zoo is free to visitors although donations are happily accepted and more than 550 animals are housed at the location. The zoo is a key draw to residents and tourists alike and it offers a pleasant trip for those who are tired of getting sandy at the beach and need a more educational experience. Many families find the pleasant atmosphere to be a great yet doable activity for the little ones because it is not as overwhelming as other, larger zoos. In addition to being the living quarters for so many animals, the zoo hosts events throughout the year -- the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, Santa's Family Workshop and Visit, a Halloween costume party, and Night Out with the Critters are just a few of the goings-on.

The kids in town enjoy the Clarence and Georgiana Davies Sports Complex where various teams play baseball, softball, hockey, and basketball. The complex offers Family Sundays throughout the year for kids and adults to play board games and ping pong as well as jam sessions for anyone who plays a musical instrument. The Davies Complex also hosts the annual War at the Shore baseball tournament every August, which draws in teams of all ages throughout the state.

If sports aren't your thing, CMCH has the Jessie Creek Winery, which produces more than 1,000 cases of the beverage annually. Currently, the winery offers Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chambourcin, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio and hosts lots of events throughout the year. Feel free to stop in for a wine tasting. Natali Vineyards is also located in Cape May Court House and has a vast array of wines to pick from. Natali has the standards like Merlot and Zinfandel, but also makes wines from peaches, blueberries, plums, and other fruits.

Cape May Court House has plenty of stores, restaurants, and shops. Cape Regional Medical Center is here as well. Students in the town attend schools within the Middle Township School District.

For people who wish to have a second home or a main residence where they can relax and not worry about gridlock during the summer months, the noise attributed to amusements, and the influx of people invading their town between late May and early September, Cape May Court House is an ideal place. It's quaint, quiet, and yet still close to the action.
